Refunds
You should pay for work that produced something, and nothing else.
Work that produced nothing
A run that could not read one of its sources is not charged for. It produced no comparison and nothing you could act on, so there is nothing to bill. This is not a refund you claim; the charge is never made.
A refused repair is free. Not discounted, free. Putting a price on the safety feature would give you a reason to widen your limits, and that is the opposite of what this service is for.
Repairs
The €0.05 repair fee is charged when the request reached its target and came back with a response. If it never arrived — a network failure, a timeout, a refused redirect, a target that resolved somewhere we will not send to — it is not charged.
A repair that arrived and was refused by your target, with a 400 or a 409, is charged. We delivered it and an answer came back; that the answer was no is information about your systems, and often the useful kind. This is different from a repair we refused to send, which is always free.
Runs you did not expect
Every check reports its own estimated monthly cost when you create it, split into what watching costs and what repairing costs, and the interval is yours to set. If a check ran far more often than you intended because of a mistake in our scheduling rather than in your configuration, write to billing@nyttolabs.com and we will refund the difference.
Unused prepaid credit
Credit does not expire. If you stop using the service, write to billing@nyttolabs.com from your account email and we will refund the unused balance to the original payment method within 14 days.
Right of withdrawal
Consumers in the EU have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract for digital services. Buying credit does not itself consume the service, so within 14 days you may withdraw and have any unspent credit refunded in full. Credit already spent on runs and corrections that were performed is not refundable, because that service was supplied at your express request.
This does not affect your rights where the service was not delivered as described. If something went wrong, tell us the run or repair id and we will look at it.
Billing mistakes
Every charge is recorded in the ledger against the comparison or repair that caused it, and GET /api/v1/balance reports whether the ledger sums to the stored balance. If those ever disagree, or a charge looks wrong, tell us and we will correct it.
